When your baby is small is it so hard not to want to hold them all the time. They are just so sweet, innocent and cuddly. Even as they grow having them close is way better than having them far. Choices for wraps/slings are endless and there is a lot of subjectivity when it comes to choosing the best one. The Maya Wrap has received rave reviews from everyone who has tried it. Options include a slightly padded version which is highly recommended. The sling is constructed from breathable, hand-loomed fabric and there are a variety of ways you can wear the sling depending on what is most comfortable for you.

I highly suggest the “how-to” video online when you are trying the different wearing alternatives because some of them are not intuitive and take a little practice. Your child will love being near to you and it will free up your arms to do other things. MEN can wear this too! If Liev Schreiber and Matthew McConaughey can pull it off … you guys can too!

NOTE to new parents/grandparents: don’t be afriad to multi-task while your baby is just hanging out or sleeping. I remember for 3 months I just hung out while my baby played, gooed and gaaed and then I used my sling for the first time and did the dishes, folded the laundry. .. it was GREAT.

My personal opinion is that you cannot do with JUST a sling and without a carrier – I see value in both.

You can find the Maya Wrap at a bunch of locations and the padded version sells for around $60.
